Mould needs cleaning, drying and ventilation. If it comes back, the wall may have seepage or condensation problems.

What you can check safely

- Move furniture away from the wall.
- Improve sunlight or airflow if possible.
- Clean small patches with a suitable mould cleaner.
- Watch if the patch returns in the same place.
What not to do
- Do not dry-sand mould.
- Do not paint directly over mould.
- Do not keep wardrobes tight against damp exterior walls.
