Tap keeps dripping after closing it fully
A dripping tap is usually a worn washer, cartridge, spindle or valve seat. Fixing it early saves water and staining.

What you can check safely
- Close the tap gently. Do not over-tighten.
- Check if the drip is from the mouth, handle or wall joint.
- Turn off the angle valve if the drip is fast.
- Keep a small container below it to avoid stains.
- Share a photo of the tap type with the plumber.
What not to do
- Do not use pliers on chrome handles unless protected.
- Do not force old fittings if they are rusted.
- Do not ignore leakage from inside the wall.
